Summary:

The U.S. Olympic Committee has emerged as an engaging storyteller, sharing the stories of America’s Olympic and Paralympic hopefuls across its various digital media platforms. The digital media content intern will help engage and inspire a growing audience of Team USA fans by developing content ideas, posting content, creating and updating athlete profiles, developing photo galleries, listicles and more across multiple Team USA digital platforms.

Essential Job Functions:

  1. Publish content to TeamUSA.org and Team USA mobile/tablet app in the form of written features, breaking news, blogs, photo galleries, listicles and videos
  2. Update athlete profiles, competition schedules, galleries, and other pages on TeamUSA.org and related digital platforms
  3. Assist in producing regular digital content analytics reports
  4. Create and maintain calendars of upcoming competitions, events and content
  5. Help develop story ideas and create content that is inspiring and engaging to Team USA fans
  6. Provide technical support to national governing bodies and internal departments who are on the TeamUSA.org platform
  7. Support digital marketing content programs
  8. Other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

  • Educational Requirements: Enrolled in a journalism, communications or related Bachelor’s degree program at the junior or senior level status or enrolled in a Master degree program, or graduated within the past six months
  • Strong writing and communications skills in order to properly represent the U.S. Olympic Committee
  • Experience using content management system(s), specifically Sitecore, a plus
  • Knowledge of Google Analytics is a plus
  • Adobe Photoshop proficiency is required
  • AP style fluency required
  • Meticulous attention to detail and accuracy
  • Creative, energetic self-starter with good interpersonal skills
  • Passion for sport and the ideals of the Olympic Movement
  • Must be eligible to work in the U.S.
  • Excellent communication and human relations skills
  • Demonstrated ability to work in fast paced multidisciplinary team environment
  • Willingness to participate in the full intern program

Tools/Equipment:

  • Standard Office Equipment
  • Microsoft Applications: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Publisher, Outlook, Adobe
  • Proficiency with internet search capabilities and usage telecommunications equipment, fax machine, copier 

Conditions:

  • Office environment in multi-story building on multi-building site
