MAJOR FOCUS:
We are looking for an enthusiastic Marketing Specialist to help us in our overall marketing
efforts. You will be an integral part of the development and execution of marketing plans to
reach targets from brand awareness to event promotion.
As marketing specialist we are looking for a competent professional able to grasp consumer
behavior trends and generate creative ideas. You should also be well-versed in specialized
marketing concepts, principles and tactics associated with the motorsports industry.
The goal is to deliver effective marketing programs that will help our reputation and growth.
ESSENTAL FUNCTIONS:
Maximize ticket sales for all events through the development and execution of sound
marketing plans for each major and weekly event with a focus on Advertising, Promotions,
Event Marketing, Database Marketing, Digital and Social Media based solutions.
To work with design, gathering information to present to Print, Broadcast and Social media
(newspapers and daily, weekly, periodical industry publications, TV/Radio, Facebook,
Twitter, Instagram) featuring newsworthy items and background facts on Memphis
International Raceway and motorsports in general.
Maximize the presence of Memphis International Raceway on Social media through
Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter. Increasing brand awareness.
Create and manage an in market street team and event marketing appearances throughout
the Mid-South. I.e. special events, etc. Creating a grassroots marketing strategy and
determine what events the display booth and street team will attend.
Create event awareness on all weekly, special and major event through webiste and social
media by developing ideas for creative marketing campaigns.
Tailor pertinent feature items relative to media-coverage area with follow-up phone call to
focus attention to the story. (Track record or highlight performances.)
Coordinate outbound and inbound marketing activities by demonstrating expertise in various
areas – content development and optimization, advertising and event planning.
Monitor on a daily basis the Memphis International Raceway website. Work with the design
team on new and exciting web strategies, update daily and add content as needed.
Create social media content calendar and post varying content on Facebook, Twitter and
Instagram. Monitor all social media platforms.
Invite and oversee the media guests when applicable.
Collaborate with sponsors and partners to coordinate brand awareness and marketing
efforts.
Maintain good relations with local and national motorsports media for event promotions.
Speak on Memphis International Raceway’s behalf as necessary at civic event, marketing
events, and during race day.
Responsible for management of Advertising and Promotions budgets.
Responsible to be onsite for all special events, all major events and other events as needed.
Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent of three-five years’ experience in Marketing or related field.
Good written and verbal communications skills.
Proficiency with computers: Microsoft Word, Excel.
Proficiency with social media and website management.
Ability to express ideas and make recommendations regarding marketing matters.
Ability to maintain a professional and positive attitude while interacting with both internal
and external customers.
Ability to sit or stand for extended periods of time-up to four (4) hours.
Ability to reach for specific items within local work area.
Ability to kneel, bend and stoop; ability to climb, ascend and descend stairs and travel to
various parts of the facility.
Ability to lift objects up to twenty-five (25) pounds.

Accountable to: President and General Manager
Accountable for: Memphis Street Team / Interns as needed
