Sports Anchor/Reporter

WREG, a Tribune Broadcasting station, has an opening for a Sports Anchor/Reporter to work in our Memphis location.   The Sports Anchor/Reporter must be a strong sports journalist whose stories go beyond game highlights. This person must bring energy and thrive on producing sports coverage that keeps the non-sports lover entertained!

• Write, edit and shoot breaking sports news, features and enterprise stories for daily newscasts and sportscasts
• Present sports content from the studio, live on location, and on all digital platforms.
• Work closely with managers, producers, and other newsroom team members to construct sports stories that meet station directives
• Create and manage content for social media/web
• Identify and develop sources within the sports community
• Perform other duties as assigned

• Bachelor’s degree in journalism preferred; equivalent experience required
• 1-2 years of professional broadcast experience required
• Strong organizational skills
• Ability to work in a rapid, fast-paced environment
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Must be willing to submit to a background check
• Must have unrestricted authorization to work in the United States
