Job Summary

The Ad Sales Planner provides support for all aspects of the ad sales process. The successful candidate will have a team-player mentality and the ability to work under pressure meeting deadlines to fulfill client requests. This position reports to the Director of Ad Sales.

 

 

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

 

  • Create strategic media plans and decks to increase sales and drive revenue
  • Collaborate with Ad Operations to review and steward campaigns
  • Input orders into sales order entry system and manage the campaign to delivery promised impressions of all West Coast orders
  • Pull and analyze research requests, such as inventory forecasts, Adviews, competitive spending and provide accurate data to sales reps regarding available inventory
  • Keep updated on sell out levels and new pricing and packaging opportunities from NY
  • Consult and interact with sales executives and management regarding any challenges throughout the sales process
  • Pull accurate inventory forecasts and handle excess inventory and oversell situations
  • Ensure a high level of customer service
  • Update all client/buyer/planner contact information
  • Assist with Admin responsibilities, including expense reports, office needs
  • Review research to find sales potential
  • Read Internet/news/industry trades for updates and communicate to sales executive
  • Assist with coordinating client entertainment/sales/events
  • Work with executives and research to create genre sales decks
  • Back up Chicago and NY offices, when needed

 

 

Qualifications:

 

  • Bachelor’s degree is required
  • 1-2 years of experience in media sales planning or agency buying is required
  • Familiarity with media terminology, pricing, inventory allocations and posting of schedules
  • Proficiency in Excel and media inventory systems
  • Knowledge of Broadway is a plus
  • Strong media math skills are preferred
  • Solid communication, analytical and organizational qualities are key
  • Ability to multi-task, while paying attention to detail
  • Be proactive to solve or prevent campaign issues
  • Comfortable in a fast-paced and changing environment
  • Able to work independently and as a team member focusing on the overall success of the team, the clients and the company
