Job Summary

JOB DESCRIPTION

FOX Sports Arizona is searching for a Digital and Social Media Content Manager/Producer to join their team in Phoenix. The position is responsible for programming the creative content of the FOX Sports Arizona digital and social platforms (Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, and YouTube) on a day-to-day basis as well as updating the website. The incumbent will lead the charge in terms of digital content creation and idea generation/execution while churning out salient, sharable video and editorial features. They will also work with team partners to ensure access and presence where needed. The overarching goal is to create relevant, timely, sharable, daily content around team partners and assist with driving viewers to FOX Sports Arizona television.

 

Responsibilities

  • Creates compelling content with a focus on video and social – this involves establishing a budgeted itinerary of the site's editorial content on a day-to-day basis and prioritizing/evaluating the relative importance of sporting events and how they should be programmed digitally
  • Collaborates with Team Partners, Production and Communication/PR teams – helping manage potential impact of content on team relationships
  • Works with new technologies to ensure high quality content is readily available
  • Partners with Ad Sales - providing them with the tools and metrics to close and monitor sales
  • Works with counterparts at FOXSports.com to share content and best practices
  • Manages hands-on production of high-profile events and breaking news with an eye to driving tune-in of FOX Sports Arizona
  • Works with the design and engineering staff to create and implement ideas, new concepts and designs to ensure website is as compelling as possible
  • Analyzes and reports on website and social statistical performance to drive continuous improvement
  • Creates weekly work schedules and manage/train support staff
  • Administrative and management support - including status reporting, monthly dashboards, contract management and budget management.

 

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree and commensurate experience required
  • 5 or more years of experience in content creation, digital or other is necessary
  • Website programming and social media experience is required
  • Working knowledge of Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, LinkedIn, YouTube, and Snapchat is necessary
  • Video production/editing skills are a must
  • Superior oral and written communication skills are required
  • Sound news judgment is necessary, including a demonstrated ability to evaluate the relative importance of sporting events and news on a day-to-day basis
  • A demonstrated ability to effectively manage multiple projects in fast paced environment is essential
  • Must be able to manage 16 hour workdays via scheduling direct reports and working nights and/or weekends based around sporting events
  • Superior organizational and project management skills are required
  • A solid understanding of HTML (and Asana), demonstrated copy editing skills, sound news judgment, and a proven ability to create effective news packages on deadline is required
  • Proven supervisory and leadership skills are necessary
