NASCAR seeks a talented professional to join in the position of Manager, International Competition based in our Concord, NC office.

 

The Manager, International Competition acts as a point of contact for competition-related matters relative to the NASCAR Peak Mexico Series, the NASCAR Pinty’s Series, the NASCAR Whelen Euro Series, and other international competitions or series in which NASCAR may be involved, may become involved, or may be considering involvement.

 

 

Duties include, but are not limited to:

 

Act as an advisor, counsel, communications facilitator, and ambassador of the Company with the managers and key officiating personnel in the International Series', and with other authorities in the international regions as needed.

 

Within the Company, act as the monitor of the international series', data-gather, at-track source, and point of contact with other departments regarding matters relative to international competition (such as advances in safety, new race or inspection procedures, new inspection equipment, etc.).

 

Participate in fact-finding missions to other regions such as South America, Europe, the Far East, and elsewhere, if and when assigned.

 

Act as a point of contact for the promoter, the series, and other Company departments for any future international series races that might be conducted in the United States.

 

Act as a point of contact for the promoter, the series, and other departments relative to international drivers coming to compete in the U.S. in NASCAR-sanctioned races and special events.

 

Monitor and report on business elements relative to these series' (new or changing sponsors, car counts, crowd counts, etc.) while also monitoring these series closely to ensure that all contractual obligations are being met by partners in these series'.

 

Monitor and report on any new racetracks at which NASCAR's international series will be competing, and/or any new circuits announced or completed abroad which may be of interest to NASCAR or NASCAR's international series'.

 

Monitor and report on international competition matters which may have a bearing on these series' and/or on NASCAR.

 

Investigate new international business opportunities; and/or potential threats to international business.

 

Serve on the NASCAR Resume Committee with a special focus on international drivers seeking to compete in the U.S.

 

Work with Touring Series Race Operations personnel to make sure that all international series marketing materials and endeavors are complete and correct from a competition standpoint.

 

Work with IMC personnel to make sure that all international series communications (such as nascarhometracks.com; NASCAR press releases; etc.) are complete and correct from a competition standpoint.

 

Assist Touring Race Operations and Corporate Events with the organization and conduct of the season-end champions week activities in the U.S. for these international series (currently held in December in the greater Charlotte area and at the NASCAR Hall of Fame).

 

Coordinate with other NASCAR-related international efforts (such as IMSA, MIA) where needed, to make sure that efforts in this area do not conflict or contradict.

 

Coordinate with NASCAR Broadcasting personnel relative to international television efforts.

 

Attend international trade shows and/or conferences on behalf of NASCAR.

 

Approximate travel 60%.

 

 

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

 

Bachelor's degree from four-year college or university five years of industry related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

 

 

Other Qualifications

 

Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.  Ability to write reports, speeches and business correspondence.  Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public. Spanish strongly recommended.
