Job Overview
|
The Managing Director of External Engagement and Strategic Partnerships reports to the Executive Vice President of Inclusion and Human Resources (IHR). The Managing Director is a member of the Executive Vice President’s Leadership Team and is responsible for executing an External Engagement and Strategic Partnerships strategy that drives the overall vision and strategic initiatives set by Inclusion and Human Resources (IHR).

Job Purpose
|
To further establish the NCAA’s mission-driven ambitions regarding external engagement by fully and strategically engaging our membership, sponsors and external stakeholders. This role directly bridges the NCAA to the broader community through strategic partnerships, collaboration and engagement with internal and external counterparts and by supporting Accelerated Academic Success Programs (AASP). Executing on the NCAA’s strategic ambitions related to external engagement drives IHR’s vision and goals while further strengthening the NCAA’s overall civic-minded presence and socially-responsive influence on an institutional, community, and a national level.

Job Responsibilities

Executes external engagement initiatives that drive the EVP’s vision and strategy

Builds strategic partnerships with historically black colleges and universities, limited resourced institutions, targeted and underutilized businesses, culturally relevant/civic minded organizations, and other key stakeholders

Provides expertise in the areas of external engagement, community outreach, social impact and AASP grant writing

Manages internal team members; Assistant Director and Administrative Assistant

Works interdependently with IHR Managing Directors

Communicates mutual purpose to engage and p romote ownership of shared initiatives

Provides AASP grant consultation, external engagement expertise and best practices to the NCAA’s leadership team and member constituents

Strategically targets and develops community partnerships

Establishes metrics to measure impact of strategic initiatives

Manages external relationships (consultants and providers)

Oversees strategic alignment of all written and electronic materials related to programs and initiatives

Builds internal support for external engagement initiatives

Executes strategic development management of all processes and procedures for AASP

Promotes supplier diversity and economic inclusion

Job Requirements
|
- Advanced degree required; Terminal degree strongly preferred.
- At least 15 years of progressive experience in external engagement, strategic partnerships, higher education, and grant administration
- At least 10 years of external engagement programming experience (e.g. leadership and supervision, development, execution and assessment of strategic programs)
