REPORTS TO: Account Director
The Account Manager (AM) will be working on managing day-to-day activities and project management duties related to the planning and execution of a Tokyo 2020 Olympic sponsor.
The AM will have a high level of interaction with clients and other stakeholders. The AM must be a strong project manager who is thoroughly organized and detail-oriented. The AM will work closely with their AD, but will be expected to work independently, make decisions, and take ownership to ensure successful management and fulfilment of key project outcomes. The AM must have the ability to meet with and present to clients independently.
Additionally, AMs must possess excellent written and verbal communication skills and be proficient in both Japanese & English at the Business level (Verbal & Written).
THE CLIENT
The client is a global B2B technology company sponsoring the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games on a Tier 2 level. Having been involved in the last two editions of the Games, the client plays an instrumental role in bringing the Games to life through their products & services. The brand is a global Octagon client who is also engaged in other sponsorships across the globe.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Client (External/Internal Relations)

Build relationship and manage requests from client in relation to the Tokyo 2020 sponsorship

Regular interface with clients at appropriate level and attendance at relevant meetings
-
Deliver complex client relation activities, including presentations
-
Daily client contact at multiple levels
-
Regularly reports status & issues to Snr Management (usually AD)
Project Management
-
Local day to day contact with rightsholder counterpart at equal level.

Support local Octagon team and work in collaboration with the global Octagon team in development, approval, management and activation of all host country sponsorship activities

Oversee client program approvals with rightsholders
-
Support host country player/ambassador appearances
-
Build and manage robust event management tools and support AD in the creation of a project plan

Support activation strategies throughout the year

Manage vendors, partners to ensure proper coordination of program logistics

Leads relationship with third parties whilst reviewing, evaluating and negotiating basic contracts with vendors, properties etc

Oversees multiple project work-streams from development through execution

Drives project forward whilst managing client expectations at both the local and global level

Communicate project status, successes or issues to AD

Document meeting notes and results and provide regular updates on project status to internal and external stakeholders

Budget Management

Responsible for research and development of budgets for senior review
Knowledge/Expertise

Moderate number of connections within industry, vendors etc

Developing understanding of industry fundamentals; also developing an area of expertise

Conducts desktop research, compiles PoV documents, competitive reports and trends reports to inform senior staff and client decision making process
Written/Verbal Communication

Supports in the creation of client documents - work requires minimal revisions from supervisor
SKILLS/EXPERIENCE
-
4 - 6 years’ experience in a client or agency role with a background managing top tier/global sponsorships – from rights managements, to the development, integration and implementation of associated marketing strategies
-
Prior experience in the B2B and/or Technology category is an advantage
-
Must be proficient in both Japanese & English at the Business level (Verbal & Written)

Able and comfortable to operate within a global working environment as well client’s office
