Manager, Accounting

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Prepare and review account reconciliations.
• Work in conjunction with Finance staff to assure timely and accurate month-end financial closing process.
• Prepare annual financial audit and tax work papers.
• Implement and monitor compliance of accounting policies and procedures.
• Facilitate a culture of continuous process improvement
• Communicate with other departments to answer questions and ensure controls are being followed.
• Assist with special projects as required.
• Assist with cash forecasting and long-range cash planning.
• Provide a leadership role in implementing any new accounting pronouncements (ie Revenue Recognition, Lease Accounting, etc).
• Provide thorough/timely review of the monthly closing process and manage individual accountability over all reconciliations.
• Interface with Pohlad Companies internal audit department to exercise best in class control environment.
• Identify opportunities for efficiencies in the organization's fiscal processes and implement changes as necessary.
• Assist in MLB FIQ and LRP Preparation.

Qualifications, Skills and Abilities:

• Excellent analytical and mathematical skills, detail oriented with exceptional business acumen.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, well organized and able to take initiative.
• Ability to handle multiple tasks at one time and meet deadlines.
• CPA with three years Big 4 or upper-tier accounting firm experience.
• Working knowledge of the Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
• Strong leadership characteristics. Works very well in a team environment.
