Job Summary

The Assistant Manager, Social Media is responsible for assisting with the implementation of NYRR’s social media strategy across all of NYRR’s social media channels. Daily responsibilities will include content creation, calendar management, reporting and analysis

 Job Responsibilities:

  •  Write and create engaging content for NYRR’s social media platforms that includes Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Snapchat, and YouTube. This includes but is not limited to:
    • Capturing photo/video for social media posts
    • Writing copy for social media posts
    • Tagging relevant partner/influencer handles
    • Identifying and crafting unique hashtags
  • Manage and schedule the content calendars for all of the NYRR’s social media channels.
  • Collaborate across departments to manage and schedule social media requests
  • Act as a “Social Media Reporter” at NYRR events. This includes but is not limited to:
    • Coordinate with Senior Manager, Social Media to ensure social media coverage at ALL NYRR events
    • Capture content and post “live” on NYRR social media platforms at events
    • Identify and execute social livestreaming opportunities at events
  • Monitor social media trends and present new ideas that will enhance the current content strategy
  • Interact regularly with designated cross-functional teams
  • Participate in departmental meetings
  • Administrative and other duties as assigned

 Job Qualifications:

  •  Bachelor’s degree with at least two years of digital and/or social media marketing experience
  • Excellent written/verbal communication and time management skills
  • A thorough knowledge of social media platforms, including Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, and Snapchat, and are able to identify sharable social media content
  • A basic knowledge of social analytics, experience working with social media management tools such as Spredfast, Simply Measured, etc. a plus.
  • An eye for great photography and a knack for writing pithy, call-to-action copy that’s appropriate for specific social media channels
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and evenings
  • Must be a self-initiator
  • Spanish-language proficiency desired
