Job Summary

AviatorSports, a premier sports and recreation complex located at Floyd Bennett Field in Brooklyn, NY which includes a 175,000 square feet indoor facility featuring state-of-the-art ice rinks, a 15,000 square foot gymnastics center and rock-climbing wall, wood floor basketball courts, nine party rooms,  golf putting range and PAR 3 golf course  along with a food concession is currently searching for experienced Controller for our finance department.
 

The successful candidate will be responsible for all managerial accounting functions for the business units of the facility, including accounting system, budget preparation and management, revenue/expense modeling, reporting and analysis of actual results and variances vs. budget, and periodic re-forecasting as necessary.  This individual will be responsible for budget oversight of Aviator’s operational partners, including its golf and retail operation.

Responsibilities will also include operations, benefits providers, facility insurance, and other external financial relationships, and reporting for investors.  The Controller will also deal with daily cash management for the facility.

To be considered, you must have five or more years of proven and progressive experience in Finance or Accounting or equivalent, preferably in a multi-unit consumer-facing business such as retail or consumer service business.  A minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance or related field or equivalent is required.  Prior experience in the Sports Industry is a plus.  Proficiency with personal computers, Microsoft Office software (especially Excel), QuickBooks and financial software packages is also required.    Prefer local applicants.
