Job Summary
POSITION: Director, Junior Golf Competitions
REPORTS TO: Managing Director, Golf Operations
JOB MISSION: The Director, Junior Golf Competitions is responsible for oversight of the Junior Golf Alliance of Colorado (JGAC) membership and competitive playing opportunities for junior golfers, while also developing programs and partnerships to enhance player opportunities that will forge them into lifelong golfers.
PRIMARY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
- Collaborate closely with the Colorado Section of the PGA and other JGAC dedicated staff to accomplish short and long-term organizational goals.
- Maintain accountability of self and others to stated and implied JGAC standards.
- Manage JGAC membership program, benefits and growth (Introductory, Series, Tour).
- Assist in the development and execution of Introductory events for emerging golfers to hone their skills.
- Plan, schedule and conduct tournament activity in Series and Tour levels of membership (site selection, registration, site preparation and administration, award recognition and points allocation).
- Review, update and develop all internal and external JGAC Policies and Procedures.
- Assist in managing relationships with national partners including the USGA, Optimist, IMG Academy Junior World, US Kids, CHSAA, Junior Americas Cup and Youth on Course.
- Coordinate and facilitate educational opportunities for JGAC members and parents that include PGA Professionals, instructors, speakers and panelists. Topics to include college golf, psychology, fitness, etc.
- Develop strategies and content for marketing, communication, website and social media.
- Recruit, supervise and evaluate volunteers and interns.
- Maintain USGA Rules of Golf competency.
- Self-motivated with strong work ethic and enthusiasm.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Propensity for detail.
- Good leadership and organizational skills.
- Computer literate using Microsoft Office, GHIN software, Bluegolf, GolfGenius UTM and social media platforms.
DEADLINE: November 21, 2018
START DATE: January 7, 2019
