Experience and Other Skills Required

  • Five years of relevant work experience in digital communications.
  • Demonstrated track record of making data-informed decisions to grow, engage and manage online audiences.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Proven ability to make innovative decisions.
  • Criminal Background Check (CBC).



Other Skills Preferred

  • Seven years of relevant work experience in digital communications in a intercollegiate athletics setting.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proven ability to work as member of a collaborative, high performing team.
  • Experience hiring, training and managing staff.

Description of Job Duties

Typical:

1. Direct, execute and lead social media strategies across all platforms including Facebook, Twitter, Snapchat, Instagram as well as new and emerging platforms to advance the Athletics brand.

2. Utilize knowledge of graphic design and branding acumen to ensure consistent branding across social, web and digital platforms.

3. Manage customized email marketing campaigns to multiple constituencies that increase awareness of Athletics initiatives and home athletic contests while providing a personal touch and a strong ROI.

4. Serve as subject matter expert on social media for Athletics Department.

5. Lead training seminars for coaches and student-athletes on best practices, trends and content development guidelines.

6. Create and maintain a year-round content calendar for all 17 intercollegiate sports to highlight teams and student-athletes in competition, in the classroom and in the community. Collaborate with Video, Marketing, Communications, Student Affairs, Office of Institutional Research and faculty to design, produce and post outlined content.

7. Collaborate with Marketing and Ticket Sales leadership to identify holistic strategies to drive revenue opportunities.

8. Develop and track metrics, as well as provide sophisticated data analysis, to create a strategic approach for driving fan engagement, ticket sales and content distribution.

9. Identify unique opportunities to integrate and showcase sponsor activations in partnership with Roadrunner Sports Properties.

10. Serve as liaison to Conference USA for all social media initiatives.

11. Collaborate with Marketing, Communications, Learfield Licensing, Roadrunner Sports Properties, Communications, Development, Roadrunner Athletic Fund, Ticket Sales and Operations and campus stakeholders.

12. Oversee the design and strategy of goutsa.com, including design process, special projects, and user flow/experience.

13. Supervise Graphic Designer position(s), part-time staff and student workers to ensure content and branding is integrated across all digital platforms.

14. Manage budgets and expenses.

15. Provide reports and regular updates on Key Performance Indicators.

16. Proactively identify growth opportunities.

17. Provide excellent customer service to internal and external constituencies.

18. Perform other duties as assigned.
