Job Summary
Position Function
Provide academic support, advising, and general support coordination for all student athletes.
Minimum Education
Master's degree by date of appointment.
Minimum Experience
At least one year of experience in education or related area.
Minimum Other
Superior interpersonal and organizational skills. Strong ability to prioritize and manage time effectively. Proficiency with MS Software, ability, and drive to learn other software. Must be flexible in regard to schedule with possible nights and weekends required.
Authorization to work in the US
Candidates for searches must have current authorization to be employed in the U.S. without employer sponsorship.
Preferred Experience
Experience in monitoring and arranging support for a diverse student population. Experience working with at-risk students at the collegiate level, preferably in an intercollegiate athletics environment. Experience in academic mentoring and developmental education. Experience with assessment of academic preparedness.
Preferred Other
Experience with NCAA continuing eligibility. Counseling skills and knowledge of learning styles. Knowledge of Banner, Degreeworks, and/or GradesFirst.

Duties & Responsibilities
- Ranking: 1
Assess assigned student athlete's academic needs and coordinate academic support plans to promote academic success. - Ranking: 2
Monitor the academic progress of assigned student athletes according to NCAA, guidelines. - Ranking: 3
Serve as the primary academic advisor to assigned student athletes, communicate and coordinate with Upper Division Advising. - Ranking: 4
Coordinate support of assigned student athletes and serve as a referral agent to other University services, including but not limited to Upper Division Advising, Disability Services, the Learning Center, Career Center, and the Counseling Center. - Ranking: 5
Participate in the NCAA Continuing Eligibility Certification process. - Ranking: 6
Maintain comprehensive and accurate files on each assigned student athlete with both advising and NCAA Continuing Eligibility documents. - Ranking: 7
Provide consistent and up to date information on all assigned student athletes to the Director, Coaches and Athletic Administrators.
