Cherokee is looking for a Family Swim and Fitness Assistant Swim Team Coach who can support and improve programs/processes implemented by the head coach. Keeps the program focused on fun, wellness, teamwork, and a positive environment for the swimmers.
Job Summary (Essential Functions)
The Swim Team Assistant Coach is responsible for assisting Head Coach in the coaching and overall organization of the Cherokee Swim Team. The Swim Season begins in early April with Pre-Season practices and culminates in August with Summer Swim. The assistant coach is an integral part of the Family, Swim and Fitness team, taking on swim lessons and swim clinics, as assigned by the Head Swim Coach.

Tasks/ Skills
Attends all practice sessions and events for the swim team, April through August such as but not limited to; Pre-season practices, Senior events, all dual meets and end of season party.
Responsible for the hands-on skill development of all swim participants.
Assists in organizing swim meets, including but not limited to, meet prep work, assisting individual swimmers, recording and posting start times, and post-race ribbon distribution.
Assists in the day-to-day operations of the swim team such as practices, Meet set-up and other tasks assigned by the Head Swim Coach.
Motivates swimmers to achieve individual goals and promotes team spirit.
Other duties include teaching private, semi-private and group swim lessons for all members of Cherokee Town and Country Club.
Performs other tasks as assigned by the Head Swim Coach or other member of the management team.
Required Qualifications
First Aid/CPR/AED Certification.
Experience in coaching all ages and levels of swimmers is required.
Good general knowledge of the sport of swimming.

Head Swim Coach
Classification: Non-Exempt Hourly DOE (depends on experience)
