Athletic Trainer (Football)

Job Summary

Job Description: The Athletic Trainer is responsible for the prevention, care and treatment of injuries to athletes using necessary knowledge of injury patterns and modern principle of athletic training. The Candidate will also be responsible for the collection of samples for drug testing and the supervision and education of student athletic trainers.

Qualifications:

• Completion of a Bachelor's degree
• Full time or part time experience
• Medical & First Aid skills
• Certified by the Board of Certification of the National Athletic Trainers Association
• Ability to sit for State License to practice Athletic Training

Preferred Qualifications:

• Completion of a Masters Degree
• Training in Psychology and drug testing

Job Responsibilities:

• Evaluating, treating and rehabilitating injuries to athletes
• Taping, bracing and preparing student athletes for practice and games of assigned sports
• Coordinating with the Director of Sports Nutrition for appropriate meals and supplements
• Charting and record keeping of student athlete injuries
• Consulting with Physicians, student athletes, and medical facilities regarding health care
• Assisting in the supervision of the student athletic trainer apprenticeship education and sport scheduling
• Maintaining professional licenses and certifications
• Collecting urine samples for drug testing
