Job Summary
Job Summary:
The Student Athlete Development Intern supports the Assistant Athletic Director, Student-Athlete Development with special projects, Student-Athlete Development programming, community engagement opportunities, special events planning, and general administrative responsibilities.
Duties and Essential Job Functions:
- Coordinates and executes, student-athlete development programming and community engagement opportunities for student-athletes and coaches. This includes working with campus and community partners to plan and execute throughout the year.
- Assists with the coordination of Student-Athlete Development personal and professional development workshops. Assists with the execution of the Leadership Academy and supports the advisor in overseeing the group.
- Assists with all major Department Student-Athlete events.
- Assists in the development of informational, educational and promotional materials for the Department.
- Manages department's social media outlets.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
Position Requirements:
Required Education and Experience:
- Bachelor's degree.
- At least 2 years' experience/undergraduate involvement in intercollegiate athletics.
Preferred Education and Experience:
- Master's degree.
- Intercollegiate athletics experience preferably at a NCAA Division I institution.
Required Licensure/Certification/Specialized Training:
- Valid Texas Driver's License.
- Must be insurable under the university motor vehicle requirements.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
- Skill in time and resource management.
- Skill in strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to work on time sensitive projects.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks with very strong interpersonal and organization skills.
- Ability to thrive in a diverse, fast-paced student-athlete service driven environment in a collegiate setting.
- Ability to take direction.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality.
- Ability to foster and maintain working relationships with other departments in the university and the community.
Work Environment:
Work is indoors and outdoors and is subject to schedule changes and/or variable work hours.
There are no harmful environmental conditions present for this job.
The noise level in this work environment is usually moderate.
