Job Summary

SUMMARY OF FUNCTION:

Coordinate and maintain the Financial Aid process for all student athletes to include awarding, SAP process, and FA workshops. Assists Head Women's Basketball Coach to plan & coordinate intercollegiate women's basketball program, including recruiting and scheduling. In cooperation with all head coaches at the College the Coordinator would ensure and coordinate the Financial Aid process for all returning and incoming athletes.

TYPICAL DUTIES:

• Coordinating the (FAFSA) Free Application for Federal Student Aid Submission/Renewal for returning and newly arriving student athletes.


• Coordinates the verification process as regulated by the Dept. of Education. Collects, reviews, and verifies student/parent documentation submitted for financial aid file ensuring compliance and authenticity. Submit corrections as appropriate to federal processor.


• Ensuring financial aid files for student athletes are completed for auto-packaging.


• Awarding of all athletic scholarships in Colleague.


• Maintaining compliance with Federal guidelines.


• Maintaining and monitoring Satisfactory Academic Progress for scholarship guidelines


• Assistance/support in coordinating Financial Aid/FAFSA Workshops for student-athletes.


• Assist the head coach in overall coaching and game implementation. Leads, monitors, and coordinates training, strength & conditioning, and practice sessions, ensuring that all appropriate safety guidelines and standards are maintained.


• Assist in the identification and recruitment of potential student-athletes for the women's basketball program, in accordance with rules, regulations, guidelines, and standards.


• Provide guidance and assistance to student-athletes on a range of personal and academic issues, as required including monitoring student athlete behavior, development of student athlete individual educational plans, and monitoring student academic progress and support.


• Represent the sports program to various institutional programs, external community organizations, agencies, funding organizations, students, parents, and to the general public.


• Support and participate in strategic initiatives and perform other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Required: Bachelor's degree in Physical Education or related field with coursework in human relations, psychology, counseling, etc. Successful basketball coaching experience at the high school and/or collegiate levels. Preference given for experience in a college setting. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to work productively with students, faculty, and staff of diverse backgrounds.

Preferred: Master's degree preferred.
