Job Summary

Job Summary: The core focus of the program is that the experience is beneficial to the Fellow and to the college athletic community in general and will help provide an initial entry into the profession of athletic administration. In addition to the day-to-day core functions described below, the Sports Management Fellowship will work to provide opportunities such as working alongside industry leaders in the Conference office, observation of meetings, job shadowing, conducting informational interviews to explore job interests, visiting member institutions, networking with individuals within institution athletic departments, as well as other opportunities identified as appropriate relative to the Fellowship incumbent. The Fellowship is a paid position and includes medical, dental, and vision insurance. 

Job Responsibilities:

  • Assisting in compiling the ballots and serving on the All-Academic awards program selection committee
  • Preparing awards for players of the week in all fall, winter, and spring sports Championships Administration
  • Preparing and distributing signage and other promotional materials for the championships
  • Coordinating with events directors with the management of activities     
  • Administering and compiling the benchmarking of championships events  
  • Attending designated officiating clinics for various sports
  • Compiling data regarding coaches' ratings of officials 
  • Creating and circulating officiating surveys
  • Acting as Communications lead for a given sport
  • Including publishing press releases on our website
  • Preparing and assembling meeting materials for semi-annual Conference meetings   
  • Reviewing drafts of agendas for Conference coaches’ meetings   
  • Managing nominations and selections procedures for the Postgraduate Scholarship
  • Compiling necessary research for Sports Management 
  •  Organizating of the community service project for each meeting 

Qualifications: 

  • Completion of a Bachelor's degree from select Institutions 
  • Experience as an undergraduate varsity student-athlete
