Job Summary

Seeking a Assistant Director of Player Services (ADPS) for the Division of Intercollegiate Athletics. This position assists the Athletic Director of Player Services in the management of all team and individual equipment and the locker rooms for intercollegiate sports with specific responsibilities in support of Men's and Women's Programs.

Among the key duties of this position are the following:

• In the Athletic Director of Player Services's absence, the Assistant Director of Player Services will be responsible and accountable for all equipment and management of department personnel.
• Oversees management of equipment which involves receiving, storing, repairing, reconditioning, cleaning, issuing, collecting, and maintaining inventories of athletic equipment.
• Responsible for files on each student-athlete and must be maintained on a current basis.
• Resolves problems related to outfitting particular athletes; problems must be resolved before the athlete can participate on the team.
• Assists the Athletic Director of Player Services in developing the annual budget request for team equipment. In doing so, the ADPS must exercise careful judgment as to the reliability and usefulness of existing items in the equipment inventory versus the need to order entirely new items.

Minimum Education and Experience

• Bachelors degree in related field or equivalent combination of education and/or experience.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

• Must have extensive knowledge of athletic equipment brands, and their application to particular sports.
• Must possess and maintain a valid driver's license and be willing to travel, when necessary, to sites throughout the area for business demands.
• Evening and weekend hours are mandatory.
