Job Summary

LIFEGUARDS FOR SUMMER 2019 - DAY CAMP  

SPECIFIC DUTIES: 

•   Monitor pool with constant attention to all swimmers.
•  Respond promptly and appropriately when rescue or first aid is necessary.
•  Know and enforce all pool rules in a respectful manner.
• Test water and record results at scheduled times.  Notify supervisor if chlorine or pH is too high or too low, verbally and in writing.
• Keep pool area clean.
• Follow lifeguard maintenance schedule for pool/deck cleanings.
• Report to work in appropriate dress and ready to assume responsibilities a minimum of 5 minutes early.
• Ability to interact with staff in a friendly and respectful manner.
• Engage in behavior conducive to team building with other staff, such as open communication,
• encouragement, support and tolerance for each other.Offer basic swim instruction to beginning swimmers. 

REQUIREMENTS:

• Experience:   At least 1 year of work related experience.
•  Education: High School Senior or College Student.
•  Knowledge/Certifications: Life Guard Certification through American Red Cross or equivalent. 

 ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:

• Physical requirements: Able to conduct recreational activities with youth equipment operation.
• To be able to participate in physical activities such as swimming, field sports, and physical team building activities.
