Job Summary
Job Description Summary:
Directs the men’s and women’s golf programs, maintaining a successful golf program for the institution and teaches courses as scheduled.
Essential Duties :
- Prepares course syllabi and teaches courses as scheduled.
- Directs all aspects of the men’s and women’s golf programs, including but not limited to on-course coaching, supervision of Athletic Assistant, student trainers and volunteers, financial aid, housing, food service and academics.
- Develops a recruitment plan and actively recruit student athletes, which adhere to College and NJCAA Policies and Procedures.
- Develops game schedules for both the men’s and women’s programs and coordinates all team travel and similar responsibilities for out-of-town matches.
- Travel and work a flexible schedule in order to meet the needs of the program.
- Provides help with academic advising to each player in the development of class schedules.
- Establish and maintain an ethical and moral code of behavior and living that is expected of the players that are residing on campus.
- Provides effective supervision of golf student athletes in the generic areas of practice, competition and life management.
- Work cooperatively with the Director of Athletics, Marketing and Media Relations and Division Chair of Health and Kinesiology to establish and provide effective communication regarding the program.
- Support the philosophy and mission of the College
- Prepare yearly budget for the golf program. Effectively manages the fiscal resources for the program.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Minimum Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- This position requires a Master’s degree with at least 18 graduate hours in health and/or kinesiology or other teaching discipline.
- Working knowledge of rules and strategies related to intercollegiate golf.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Some Travel
- Ability to work evenings and weekends
Preferred Qualifications:
- College teaching experience.
- Three years experience in coaching/recruiting intercollegiate athletics.
Salary Range: Per facutly salary schedule
