Job Summary
Brief Description of Duties: The Head Coach (HC) is responsible for all aspects of leading a NCAA program in the sports of Men's Soccer & Men's Lacrosse. Including, but is not limited to, recruitment of prospective student-athletes (SA), SA development, competition preparation and strategy, supervision of assistant coaches, scheduling, alumni and public relations, fundraising, adherence to NCAA rules and regulations, and general administrative duties.
The HC will be evaluated for competitive success; the extent to which coaches are providing a positive meaningful educational experience for SA leading to their graduation; whether the HC has established a culture in which he/she is viewed by the SA as a mentor, educator and role model. The HC is responsible for supporting the philosophy, goals and mission of the college and Athletic program, as well as adherence to departmental, university, and NCAA policies and procedures. Other duties as qualified and assigned may be assigned by the Athletic Director.
Required Qualifications: Bachelors Degree. Three years intercollegiate coaching experience with Men's Soccer or Lacrosse; experience assisting with fundraising; an understanding of NCAA Rules Compliance. Significant experience with recruiting, skill instruction, practice/game plan development, staff supervision, and administrative responsibilities.
Preferred Qualifications: Masters Degree in a relevant field; experience coaching Men's Soccer & Men's Lacrosse within a NCAA intercollegiate program; prior college head coaching experience; intercollegiate playing experience; excellent organizational, leadership and communication skills, fiscal management and fundraising experience.
