Job Summary

Major duties and responsibilities:

• Responsible for internal controls over the monthly close processes. Ensure that effective controls and efficient procedures are in place to safeguard company assets and prepare documentation of such controls
• Prepare monthly financial closing journal entries
• Research technical accounting standards and updates as needed
• Analyze and reconcile general ledger accounts
• Prepare monthly account roll forwards and balance sheet account reconciliations
• Distribute monthly P&L statements to department managers
• Prepare and analyze departmental financial statements
• Provide requested information to auditors, consultants, and others on audits and other matters requiring coordination
• Assist in financial modeling for forecasting company performance
• Coordinate and prepare financial schedules required for NFL reporting
• Compile data and prepare monthly sales tax and A&A tax returns
• Assist in development of new procedures and implementation of new systems to enhance the workflow of the department
• Other projects as assigned

Qualifications:

• The ideal candidate will have a bachelor’s degree in accounting/finance
• CPA or CPA candidate is a plus
• 3+ years accounting experience
• Prior experience should include general ledger accounting, financial statement preparation, and interaction with external auditors or participation on external audit engagements

Knowledge and Skills:

• Familiarity with accounting/financial software
• Knowledge of Epicor, Microsoft Dynamics 365, and FRx is a plus
• Solid understanding of general accounting principles
• Advanced Excel skills required
• Proficient in Microsoft Office software (Word, PowerPoint, etc)
• Detail oriented with strong organizational skills
• Ability to manage multiple projects, prioritize and meet deadlines
• Ability to analyze and evaluate financial data and effectively communicate verbally and in writing
• Strong administrative and organization skills with attention to detail and follow-up required
• Ability to communicate effectively across all levels of management demonstrating a strong balance of technical and interpersonal skills
