Job Summary

Primary Purpose of the Position:

The Head Men's Basketball Coach is a key member of the institution's NCAA Division II intercollegiate athletics staff and reports directly to the Director of Athletics. The primary purpose of the Head Men's Basketball Coach's position is to oversee and be responsible for the University's Men's Basketball program. This is a 12-month position.

Minimum Education and Experience Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree required
• A minimum of 7 years of collegiate coaching experience required
• Possess current first aid / CPR / AED certification (preferred) or are required within 30 days of hire
• Possess a current valid driver's license; availability for frequent regional travel.

Knowledge skills and abilities:

Knowledge:

• Strong working knowledge and understanding of NCAA, CIAA, and institutional rules and regulations
• Superior basketball knowledge and experience with social media marketing methodology.

Skills:

• Strong interpersonal skills, computer skills, effective organizational and managerial skills are needed.

Ability to:

• Establish and maintain effective working relationships both in and out of the office workplace; possess the ability to foster and maintain working relationships with* student-athletes, administrators, individuals representing other departments in the university system, the corporate industry, and the surrounding community.
• Perform job duties with tremendous accuracy; Have an outstanding work ethic.
• Handle a multitude of tasks and requests concurrently; Deal with the ever-changing needs of the unit; Possess excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Move or lift up to 50 pounds; Do sedentary work with the ability to do some walking, standing, typing, talking, and hearing.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Master's degree
• Proficient computer literacy skills (familiarity with Microsoft Office, Stat Crew, and other applications preferred).
