Job Summary

Job Summary: We have an opening for a full-time Staff Accountant position based in our Central region. The individual in this position will be an integral contributor to the finance and business operations  and will have a broad range of responsibilities including all aspects of the monthly close, GL responsibilities, fulfilling the reporting requirements and developing process efficiencies. The person in this role will collaborate with other finance team members to produce monthly and quarterly financial reports and will be an instrumental player in creating annual budget, quarterly rolling forecast and year-end projections.

Job Responsibilities: 

  • Participating in the month end close process and communicate with other departments to ensure all information requirements and reporting deadlines are met 
  • Preparing, reviewing, uploading and posting journal entries for league level and team level transactions
  • Creating a balance sheet and bank account reconciliations
  • Producing event profit and loss reports for all games
  • Organizing monthly tax filings
  • Performing financial settlements with individual stadium on a regular basis
  • Administering expense reporting system
  • Ensuring that accounts payable are paid in a timely manner 
  • Assist in ensuring that accounts receivable are collected promptly 
  • Working cross-functionally with various departments to provide financial insights and relevant reporting 
  • Conducting special research and projects for the general ledger as required 
  • Coordinating and preparing an annual budget and periodic forecasts


  • Completion of a Bachelor’s degree in Finance or Accounting
  • Experience working in an accounting related role 
  • Experience with GL, journal entry preperation, monthly and annual close processes 
  • Knowledge of accounting principles/practices, internal controls, budget development, projections and variance analysis
  • Ability to prepare, organize and analyze complex financial information
  • Ability to handle confidential information in a professional manner
  • Ability to meet deadlines and issue financial information in a timely manner
  • Ability to demonstrate flexibility with changing priorities
  • Experience with accounting software

Preferred Qualifications: 

  • Experience in the sports industry
