Job Summary

Northeast College invites applications for a 12-month, full-time position in the athletics department.

The Assistant Director of Athletics serves as a member of the department’s leadership team that is committed to excellence and is responsible for assisting with the overall administration of the Department of Athletics, Fitness and Recreation.

A demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects, work as part of a team and motivate staff in a fast paced environment is necessary.

A Bachelor’s degree in related field is required with preference given to those with a Master’s degree (Sports Management or Higher Ed Admin) or equivalent.

A minimum of two years of collegiate athletic administrative experience is required as well as a commitment to the NCAA Division III philosophy, rules and regulations.

Candidates must also have the ability to work nights, weekends and holidays depending on work and game schedules.

Responsibilities will include but not be limited to

• assisting with the oversight, management and maintenance of facilities (including scheduling practices, contests for 19 varsity teams, recreational offerings, intramurals, student groups and outside users); ensuring that facilities are properly supervised, and required maintenance and repairs scheduled accordingly.
• This position will manage the facility rental agreements during the academic year.
• The Assistant Director of Athletics will coordinate and supervise staff and students assigned to game management activities including set-up / breakdown of events and Livestreaming events where appropriate.
• This position is also responsible for promoting attendance at athletic contests and working with student performance groups to entertain when appropriate.
• Assisting with the coordination of events and department special events will be required.
• Additionally, this position will hire, supervise, schedule and train student-workers
