Job Summary

Job Summary: The Head Wrestling Coach is responsible for managing all aspects of a competitive Wrestling Program including, but not limited to: recruitment and management of a coaching staff, recruitment of academically and athletically qualified student-athletes, and successful preparation, planning, and strategy for sustaining a highly competitive program. The Head Coach must abide by all college rules. The Head Coach will assume other administrative duties that may include Strength and Conditioning (certification required), Game Management, Academic Advising, or teaching Physical Education classes. 

Job Responsibilities:

• Developing and implementing a comprehensive recruiting plan
• Hiring, supervising, developing, and evaluating Assistant Coaches
• Overseeing a training program to develop the team to its fullest potential
• Managing all operational, fiscal, and administrative duties associated with the Wrestling program including balancing the annual operating budget 
• Monitoring the conduct of coaches and student-athletes to support the mission, image, and reputation
• Ensuring a commitment to the academic success of the student-athletes, including monitoring of academic progress and attendance
• Coordinating weight training & conditioning program with Strength and Conditioning Coach for the Wrestling program
• Fundraising for needed items outside of college base budget earmarked for Wrestling
• Scheduling contests with approval from the Director of Athletics 

Qualifications: 

• Possessing a combined background that includes relevant collegiate coaching experience (head coach or assistant)
• Directing experience as a past collegiate athlete in the sport

Preferred Qualifications:

• Completion of a Bachelor's degree
• Coachign experience and demonstrated past success in role
