Job Summary

Job Summary: The Part-time Fitness & Wellness Coordinator assists the Center Manager with daily operations of the facility and assists in coordinating, implementing and leading the wellness related activities and supervising staff.

Job Responsibilities:

• Establishing classes and special programs for the Fitness Center
• Assisting the Center Manager in assigning schedules and duties for staff members
• Working with the Center Manager to establish policies and procedures in the Fitness and Aerobics area
• Identifying fitness equipment needing preventative maintenance and submits paperwork
• Training and assisting in the evaluation of staff
• Presenting exercise orientations, fitness assessments and exercise introduction/prescriptions
• Working with the Center Manager to create signage as needed for fitness classes
• Ensuring staff maintains their current certifications
• Presenting orientation to wellness students as needed by professors
• Helping with the marketing and development of fitness and wellness memberships

Qualifications: 

• Completion of an Associate's degree or 60 College Credits earned towards degree in  Exercise Science or fitness and health related field 
• Related experience with a Personal training certificate by a nationally known organization or ability to receive certification within first year of employment
• Ability to identify and respond to Life threatening and First Aid situations

Preferred Qualifications: 

• Completion of a Bachelor's degree in Exercise Science or fitness and health related field and related experience
