Job Summary

Job Summary: This position is responsible for the implementation of a social media strategy and plan, developing creative and animated sequences for use in marketing collateral on social media platforms, website and game days.

Job Responsibilities: 

• Executing graphic design for all marketing collateral needed for print, social media and web
• Attending athletic events to capture and create content to be used to further promote various sports in-game
•  Developing and growing social media platforms as well as engage in new social media trends and opportunities 
• Assisting with extending the Athletics brand
• Coordinating with the Multimedia & Video Coordinator on maintaining cohesion for video
• Measuring social media metrics and advertising
• Helping with other Athletics Department events and functions as requested

Qualifications:

• Knowledge of the principles of artistic and graphic design and illustration including the ability to design, layout and preparing finished artwork to develop a visual product
• Knowlege of applicable graphic, design and desktop publishing software packages 
• General knowledge of the principles of print design, typeface, color, layout, and production techniques
• Knowledge of the use of color, tone, shading, harmony and perspective drawing
• General knowledge of systems, techniques and processes used in web site design, photography, printmaking, and other applicable media
• Basic understanding of sales and marketing strategies typically used within intercollegiate athletics
• Ability to coordinate media activities in conjunction with athletic events
• Basic knowledge of copyright laws, especially relating to creative properties
• Ability to use media outlets including coordinating media coverage and media publicity campaigns 
• Excellent computer skills and proficiency with a variety of computer applications including Adobe Creative Suite and Hootsuite
