Job Summary


Position Overview:

  • Seeking one communications intern with excellent writing and research skills responsible for supporting the NFL Team football communications department. This is a paid position (California minimum wage) and does not require travel to road games.
  • As the football communications intern, this individual will be heavily relied on to support all areas of the football communications department with the opportunity to assume new responsibilities as determined by the staff.  

Primary Responsibilities: 

  • Prepare and distribute daily morning and mid-day clips to members of the organization. 
  • Record and transcribe all coach/player/personnel press conferences and distribute to media.
  • Assist with all publications (weekly book, gameday magazine, updated media guide, Alumni Magazine, etc.).
  • Prepare and update all player bios on a weekly basis.
  • Proactively research statistical information related to the team as well as individual players.
  • Ability to create, develop and pitch unique stories or ideas to media.
  • Distribute mailing information/packets for each week’s information guide (weekly book) for printer.
  • Assist postgame needs during home games (locker room access, game notes, etc.).
  • Aid in the promotion of Levi’s Stadium and majority of all non-49ers gameday events.
  • Help facilitate and execute player media requests as assigned.

 
Requirements:

  • At least one season of experience working in the football communications department for a professional or collegiate team.
  • Working understanding of Adobe resources (InDesign, Photoshop, etc.).
  • Must have strong working knowledge of NFL Game Statistics & Information System (GSIS) and other statistical resources.
  • Working knowledge of social media platforms as well as pros and cons of social media usage.
  • Able to work non-traditional hours, in non-traditional settings. This includes working all home games, in addition to the entirety of team training camp.
  • Must be dependable, flexible and able to adapt to a variety of situations and personalities
  • Must excel in verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to interact well with individuals throughout all levels of the organization.
  • Must be able to effectively work in a fast-paced, high pressure environment and demonstrate the ability to juggle multiple projects.
  • Display a positive attitude at all times as well as a daily commitment to doing your best.
  • Ability to take constructive criticism and apply that to your craft.
