Job Summary



Position Overview:

  • This position is responsible for the management of part-time game operations staff, content creation, show calling, and game day departmental needs to ensure an entertaining and informative show.

Responsibilities: 

  • Act as associate venue producer and show-caller for all  home games.
  • Responsible for the detailed execution of the in-arena show, manage PA, hosts, music, video playback, audio mixing, special effects, and overall atmosphere.
  • Lead content creation across multiple in-arena outputs, including for the center hung, ribbon boards, ancillary boards, and on-ice projection (with support from productions).
  • Track projects in coordination with marketing, digital media, and community relations teams to ensure efficiencies across platforms.
  • Act as the primary liaison to Broadcast & Technology department, ensuring proper hiring, placement, and crewing processes are upheld and adhered to.
  • Assist with creation & execution of pregame ceremonies, national anthems, intermission entertainment, and other special events for Capitals home games.
  • Work with the Game Entertainment Director and Corporate Partnerships department to integrate partners’ goals and the Capitals brand for unique & efficient in-game execution.
  • Maintain master schedule of game night activities, including preliminary, backstage, and in-game activities in relation to the Capitals.
  • Oversee the Game Entertainment Coordinator as it relates to floor managing and the oversight of game night staff, entertainment squad, hosts, mascot handlers, special guests, and interns.
  • Assist in all off-season activities, including but not limited to entertainment squad try-outs.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications: 

  • Bachelor’s degree.
  • 3+ years of experience in game operations, production, or sports management.
  • You have working knowledge of the production industry, new equipment, and programs used to develop in-game content.
  • Previous experience in a live control room, a plus.
  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills.
  • Hockey knowledge preferred.
  • You are organized and able to handle business relationships in a professional and confidential manner.
  • You have excellent time management and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong knowledge of MS Office, including Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Excel.
  • Flexibility to work evenings and weekends.
