Job Summary

Responsibilities

  • Oversee, enhance and maintain the HCAC website
  • Using various forms of social media, promote the Conference via publication of competition results, conference events, awards, etc. and promote student-athletes within the conference for their non-athletic accomplishments
  • Maintain close association with, and serve as the primary liaison to, the institutional Directors of Sports Information
  • Administer pre-season polls for each sport
  • Coordinate the HCAC award programs and promote award recipients - including performer of the week, all-Conference, sportsmanship, coach of the year, academic awards, etc.
  • Oversee master sport schedules and coordinate with campus SIDs to ensure accurate and consistent publication
  • Update and maintain comprehensive archives for the HCAC - including awards, statistics, standings, champions, tournament winners and records
  • Create championship materials including webpages, programs, scripts etc.
  • Supervise volunteers (when applicable)
  • Perform related duties to meet the needs of the Conference as assigned by the Commissioner

Additional Responsibilities

  • Prepare materials for Administrators and Coaches Meetings
  • Conduct Coaches Meetings for assigned sports
  • Serve as the league’s Championship Manager at various HCAC Championships
  • Coordinate and oversee all aspects of the Conference Awards program for all sports and events, which includes administration of selection process, designing, ordering, and distributing awards, etc.
  • Oversee portions of the Conference Grant program relating to specific job responsibilities
  • Assist with the development of Conference schedules
  • Assist with NCAA Compliance duties, including the weekly Compliance Quiz
  • Coordinate all NCAA DIII Week Activities
  • Serve as Conference SAAC Advisor and plan and conduct the HCAC Leadership Retreat
  • Administer HCAC Minority Mentoring Programs
  • Oversee Sports Information and Sport-Specific Vendor Agreements and Relations
  • Attend Professional Events as a Representative of the HCAC Office
  •  Perform related duties to meet the needs of the Conference as assigned by the Commissioner

Qualifications

  • The successful candidate should have 3-5 years of collegiate athletics experience, some portion of which was in a sports information office.
  • A bachelor’s degree is required and advanced degree is strongly preferred.
  • The individual will possess strong verbal, written and online communication skills.
  • The ability to manage multiple responsibilities under pressure, with tight deadlines and minimal direct supervision is essential for success. Proficiency in website maintenance and development, use of StatCrew, Excel, and Adobe is required, as is a valid driver’s license.
  • Travel and some night and weekend work is required.
