Job Summary
Position Summary
- Under the direction of the head rowing coach
- Responsible for all phases of the women's rowing program as it relates to the mission of thhe University Department of Athletics.
Duties and Responsibilites
- Commitment to honesty and integrity, as well as to compliance with NCAA, Atlantic 10 and University regulations.
- Commitment to assisting student-athletes achieve academic success.
- Engages in and supports the coordination of team travel.
- Provides a positive collegiate experience for student-athletes.
- Support the head coach in the development of a women's rowing program that challenges student-athletes to improve and succeed both individually and as a team.
- Provides student-athletes with appropriate coaching by imparting knowledge of the sport and skill instruction.
- Effectively recruits student-athletes.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution.
- Have a minimum of 1 year coaching experience at the collegiate level or 3 years at the high school level
- Flexibility to work non-traditional hours and weekends is essential.
- Rowing experience at an intercollegiate varsity rowing program or competitive club program.
- May possess any equivalent combination of experience and training, which provides the knowledge, skills and abilities required to perform the essential job functions. This includes, but is not limited to, the following:
- Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to communicate effectively with student-athletes, coaching staff, parents, and the University community.
- Understanding of the demands placed on Division I student-athletes both in the classroom and on the water.
- Ability to lead and motivate student-athletes.
- Integrity, leadership, and a thorough knowledge of the sport.
- Ability to successfully complete Act 153 background checks.
- Recruiting experience at the collegiate level or demonstrated skills and abilities necessary to be a successful recruiter.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with the University Community.
- Willingness to contribute actively to the University Mission and to respect the Catholic identity of the University.
