Jr. Hockey Analyst

Job Summary

• Work with our Hockey Analytics team to increase our modeling capabilities, contribute to our efforts in player and team analysis, and assist in disseminating data-based information throughout our organization. 

• Develop and maintain predictive models.
• Query information effectively from large servers to answer hockey operations staff questions.
• Communicate complicated statistical concepts effectively to hockey operations staffers.
• Work independently and collaboratively to assist with the department’s needs.

• Strong understanding of the game of hockey and its terminology.
• Knowledge of the state of hockey analytics in the public sphere.
• Expertise in a statistical coding language, preferably R.
• Experience working with large data sets and building models.
• Time spent executing data queries in SQL.
• Willingness to work some nights and weekends where necessary.
• Experience in data visualization and/or database management is a plus.
