Job Description
  • Provides administrative, instructional and recruiting support services under the direction of the Director of Athletics and Head Football Coach for the benefit of all athletic teams in each area of expectation. 

Assistant Football Coach

  • Assist in the implementation of the support training and instructional program under the direction of the head coach.
  • Recruit prospective student-athletes effectively.
  • Serve as a liaison with academic support personnel in support of players' academic efforts.
  • Serve as a liaison with athletic training and strength and conditioning staff in support of conditioning and rehabilitation of players.
  • Demonstrate a sincere interest in the personal and academic development,and athletic progress, of student athletes.
  • Exhibit good writing and speaking abilities.
  • Exhibit supportive and cooperative behavior in pursuit of sport program goals set by the head coach.
  • Efficiently and effectively complete all assignments provided by the head coach.
  • Accept constructive criticism and demonstrate professional growth under the supervision of the head coach.
  • Exhibit good judgment and professional behavior in advising and counseling student-athletes.
  • Conform to the highest standards of professional conduct regarding compliance with department and institutional policies and procedures.
  • Adhere to the rules and regulation of athletic governance organizations of which the institution is a member
  • Contribute to the maintenance of good working relationships with all staff, student-athletes and external constituents. 
Head Strength & Conditioning Coach
  • Supervise the development and implementation of strength, conditioning, and flexibility programs.
  • Design both team and individual athlete programs.
  • Work with athletic trainers to ensure that the strength, conditioning, and flexibility programs are fully aligned with rehabilitation programs of injured student-athletes.
  • Provide instruction and daily supervision of the technical aspects of lifting during scheduled workouts.
  • Supervise all strength and conditioning facility operations.
  • Daily inspection of equipment and necessary maintenance to ensure safe operations.
  • Generate requisitions for the purchase of all equipment for the strength and conditioning facility.
  • Oversee all strength and cardio room student workers.
  • Prepare and review cleaning schedules for the strength and cardio rooms.
  • Design and conduct strength, conditioning and flexibility assessment program to identify deficiencies; track student-athlete improvements; and maintain computer records for the purpose of producing regular reports to head coaches.
  • Design summer strength, conditioning and flexibility programs for all teams.
  • Conform to the highest standards of professional conduct regarding compliance with department and institutional policies and procedures.
  • Adhere to the rules and regulations of athletic governance organizations of which the institution is a member.
  • Contribute to the maintenance of good working relationships with all staff, student-athletes and external constituents.
Athletic Department/Campus Administrative Support
  • Events, Scheduling, Facilities, Transportation, Student Employment, Admissions, Regiment.
  • Fundraising activities.
  • Attend all mandatory staff meetings for full-time employees.
  • Home event supervision duties as assigned.
  • Completion of Campus Security Authority Training, HR Module Training, Van Driver Certification, NCAA Exam.
 
Required Qualifications
  • Possess a Bachelor's degree frm an accredited college or university.
  • Demonstrated football coaching experience.
  • Demonstrated strength & conditioning experience and/or comparable fitness industry experience.
  • Have knowledge of NCAA Division III rules.
  • Excellent interpersonal, teaching and communication skills.
  • Ability to recruit student-athletes, develop successful programs and maintain operations.
  • Possession of a valid Driver's License.
  • Must have a motor vehicle record which is free from major violations or a pattern of repeat violation.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Have strength & conditioning experience at the intercollegiate level.
  • Current NSCA certification (CSCS) or comparable certification from a nationally accredited certifying organization.
  • Have football coaching experience at the intercollegiate level.
  • Possess a Master's degree from an accredited college or university in Physical Education or related area.
  • Coaching certification from national agency of issuance.
  • Exhibit prior experience with student-athlete recruitment or the evidence of potential for success in recruitment.
  • Demonstrate evidence of ability to work well with college-age student-athletes and proven ability to perform administrative aspects of the program.
  • Current Certification in First Aid, AED and CPR.
