Job Summary
Job Description
- Build and manage a portfolio of 150-200 current and prospective major gift donors.
- Identify, cultivate, solicit and steward major gift donors.
- Solicit major gifts of $25,000 and higher in support of capital projects, endowments and programs.
- Work collaboratively with and in support of Major Gifts team, other Foundation departments, and staff and coaches.
- Monitor and track all donor and prospect engagements to ensure positive and purposeful outcomes.
- Meet or exceed annually established fundraising goals, solicitations, and donor contacts
Responsibilities
- Travel through the assigned territory at least 10 times a year.
- Secure a minimum of 40 substantive face-to-face visits per month.
- Initiate contact with potential major gift donors.
- Develop cultivation strategies for prospects, including working with volunteers.
- Move potential donors in an appropriate and timely fashion toward solicitation and closure.
- Maintain stewardship contacts with donors.
- Adhere to the highest ethical standards.
- Demonstrate empathetic disposition, and perseverance.
- Reflect optimistic and positive attitude, and convey sensitivity to needs of the donors.
- Complete in a timely manner all required job reports, donor contact reports, and attend weekly and monthly meetings as required.

Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree
- 5 years related experience, preferably major gift fundraising.
- Successful experience in making cold calls as well as developing cultivation and solicitation strategies.
- Demonstrated experience and knowledge of Microsoft Office programs and related databases.
- Ability to understand the needs and interests of major gift donors, Board of Trustee members and administration in order to develop a relationship of collaboration amongst all involved.
- Willingness to work a flexible schedule based on changing priorities, including weekend, holiday and evening hours.
- Ability and willingness to travel frequently to perform functions of the position.
