Job Summary

Job Description

  • Provide the opportunity to receive sports administration education and training in one of the premier college conference offices.
  • Exposed to and involved in the ongoing development of Conference initiatives.
  • Provide hands-on experience and learning opportunities in the area of compliance, student-athlete involvement, and governance.

Principal Functions

  • Assistance with the Conference’s compliance services:
  1. NCAA and Conference compliance record management, education and interpretations.
  2. NCAA and Conference waiver administration.
  3. NCAA violation administration.
  4. National Letter of Intent program administration.
  5. NCAA legislative process and proposal tracking support. •
  6. Participate in preparations for meetings and conference calls, as appropriate.
  • Assist with the Conference’s governance and student-athlete services:
  1. Governance process and proposal administration support.
  2. Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) support.
  3. Conference research related to governance recommendations and/or sport administration.
  4. Participate in preparations for meetings and conference calls with Conference Cabinets, Committees, and Head Coaches groups.
  • Assist with the Conference’s championships and events.
  1. Specific duties as assigned at the 2019 WCC Men’s and Women’s Basketball Tournament in Las Vegas.
  2. Other opportunities to work at Conference championships and events. 

Required and Preferred Qualifications

  • Demonstrated experience with the Conference's core values of integrity, servant leadership, inclusion, innovation, communication, and collaboration.
  • Demonstrated enrollment towards or completion of a Bachelor’s, Master’s or equivalent degree required.
  • Athletics administration and/or sports management experience or related volunteer experience preferred.
  • Demonstrated high-level proficiency in Microsoft programs, HTML, Adobe Creative Suite required.
  • Proficiency and experience with Apple computers and operating systems and Adobe Creative Suite preferred.
  • Effective professional communication.
  • Proficiency in drafting and editing written communications.
  • Working knowledge of intercollegiate athletics, Conference and its institutions’ programs and/or higher education preferred.
