Pool Mechanic

Job Summary

• Maintains the quality and integrity of fountains by performing repair and maintenance of fountains and by maintaining the chemistry of water to ensure compliance with city codes and satisfaction on the part of the public.

• Installs, maintains, and repairs water pump equipment and systems by dismantling, replacing, reassembling, and adjusting equipment to ensure safe and efficient operation.
• Maintains water chemistry by using various chemicals to conform to city health codes.
• Maintains all masonry to ensure, coping stone, decorative surfaces, and fountain basis to maintain the physical appearance of fountains.
• Examines water pump systems to identify operation defects by listening to machine in operation and other water tracking methods.
• Performs preventive maintenance checks on plumbing fixtures including repair of pipes, open clogged drains, replaces washers on leaky faucets in water lines, dispensing and sewer systems using a variety of plumbers tools and measuring and testing devices.
• Repairs/replaces surrounding areas around fountains to maintain the physical appearance and overall condition of swimming pools.
• Cleans large filter tanks and equipment to ensure safe and efficient operation.
• Regular, reliable and punctual attendance is an essential function of the job,

• 2-3 years prior experience with fountain and/or pool maintenance or work as a water technician.
• Direct experience with VFDs, maintenance of motors, pumps and associated equipment required to operate complex fountain/pool systems.
• Working knowledge of water chemistry.
