Assistant Director of Personal Development

Job Summary

Primary Responsibilities

• Assisting the Director in implementing the Academy program, which will support student-athletes in all areas of personal development, to include, career, leadership, personal, and community service.
• Llead advisor for Crimson Council (SAAC) and will coordinate all community service activities/engagement opportunities for student-athletes.
• Assist the Director in recruiting employers and former student-athletes to take part in the career programming and mentoring of current student-athletes.
• Serve as a career advisor.
• Assist with the planning of all personal development events.
• Assist with planning and scheduling of café workshops, which provide teams with career, personal and wellness resources.
• Meet annually or bi-annually with student-athletes to assist with resume prep, interview skills, networking and job search.
• Assist with the planning of all personal development events and workshops.
• Work with campus partners to support career development and programming for student-athletes.
• Assist with planning and teaching the Career & Life Skills course for junior and senior student-athletes.
• Must work nights and weekends as needed. 

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a related area or equivalency required.
• Master’s degree preferred.
• Demonstrated human relations and effective communication skills required.
• Previous experience in student-athlete and career development is preferred.
• Potential ability to perform the essential functions of the job as outlined in the position description.

Preferences

• Preference will be given to applicants with a graduate degree in Counseling, Education or a related subject.
