Job Summary

Job Overview

• Responsible for managing all aspects of a competitive and successful NCAA Division II Softball program.
• Primary responsibility being the planning and instruction of Softball skills.
• Must have a strong commitment to the academic success of the student-athletes in the program that leads to graduation through a positive collegiate experience.
• Compliance with NCAA, SAC, and University Policies and Regulations. Must be efficient at individualized and team instruction with emphasis on teaching all skills and strategies associated with the sport.
• Recruiting quality student-athletes that are committed to the University’s mission.
• Commitment to and the management of program budget.
• Provide academic support and oversight for all student-athletes.
• Game scheduling.
• Hiring and supervision of staff.
• Practice and game planning and implementation.
• Player development and evaluation.
• Supervise an effective strength and conditioning program.
• Managing travel.
• Developing and maintaining positive alumni relations.
• Day to day program administration.
• Preparing scouting reports, scouting/film analysis.
• Fundraising and community service activities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required.
• Master’s degreed preferred.
• Successful collegiate head coaching experience is preferred.
• Demonstrated expertise in on-field instruction and knowledge of the game.
• Ability to recruit student-athletes that will be successful in the classroom and on the field.
• Ability to lead, mentor and motivate student-athletes.
• Strong communication, organizational and interpersonal skills and a demonstrated ability to produce and manage a competitive softball program are important.
• Developing and maintaining positive alumni relations.
