Job Summary

Position Overview

• College student to serve as an intern for the Arena Operations department.
• Play an integral role in event day operations, day to day operations, and help lead our staff of part time employees.
• Rotating throughout the department in the areas of administrative coordination, event management, building operations, security, guest services and senior executive support. 
• Nonn-paid internship where you will need to able to work 20-40 hours per week.
• Required to receive academic credit. 
• Hours will include most arena events, throughout the semester that may occur on evenings and/or weekends, including Arena Events and basketball games. T
• Program runs from September 4, 2019 to December 13, 2019. 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Assist with department administrative duties: maintaining and updating supply orders, senior executive support, inventory checklists, media tracking, etc.
• Assist with switchboard coverage.
• Assist with Center Tours.
• Organize and manage internal inventory/merchandise.
• Learning and executing each event staff role.
• Assist with creating and updating interdepartmental and interoffice documents.
• Assist in vendor relations.
• Assist in department daily duties.
• Guest Services research project.
• Assist with the HSE Green Initiative program.
• Assist with expense reports.
• Assist with managing and updating events calendars.
• Assist with pre-event and event day operations and support associated with all Center events.
• Assist with part-time Recruiting and Training.
• Attend building walk-throughs and relevant upcoming event meetings.
• Assist with management of day of show responsibilities. 

Required Skills, Experience, and Abilities

• Must receive college credit.
• Preference for Sport Management/Administration, Marketing, Public Relations, Communications or related majors.
• Possess a strong ability to manage one’s own time and prioritize tasks when given clearly defined goals and objectives.
• Able to maintain confidentiality and use discretion when privy to sensitive information.
• Be a flexible and reliable teammate, both within the department and the company as a whole.
• Thrive in a dynamic, deadline driven environment.
• Present yourself in a professional manner and have the ability to interact with all levels of organization and outside contacts.
• Consistently at work on time and responds to supervisor's instructions.
• Ability to multi-task.
• You should able to work extended hours including nights, weekends, holidays, and attend company events
