Job Summary

Job Description
The Director of Player Development and College Readiness will
  1. Connect the dots for our junior players, their families and coaches on the world of college tennis.
  2. Facilitate relationships with all colleges and universities in the section with prospective student-athletes.
  3. Work with Player Development in to identify and support the development of elite players or potentially elite players throughout the SoCal region.

Job Duties  

  • Establish a Player Development program.
  • Bridge the gap between the community and efforts.
  • Cultivate a relationship with private programs/coaches within the section with a goal of creating a unified culture and development of a pool of candidates for coaching education opportunities.
  • Restructure or reintroduce a Coaches Commission.
  • Develop and facilitate Player Development Camps and High-Performance initiatives.
  • Work with the Director of Junior Development with talent ID for all Player Development opportunities and tournaments.
  • Provide parent and coaching education information in areas of the player development pathway.
  • Promote, educate, and support high level junior players on the college tennis process and college tennis recruitment/matriculation opportunities.
  • Establish meaningful relationships among the college tennis community.
  • Promote College Tennis attendance among junior and youth players.
Requirements
  • B.A. degree from an accredited four-year institution.
  • Advanced knowledge and experience with tennis, player development and college tennis.
  • Advance knowledge or development of a clear understanding of the Player ID and Development pathway and structure.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Strong computer skills with intermediate Google Suite and Microsoft programs.
  • Take the HPCP Course within the first 6 months. 
  • Participate in PD meetings

Additional Desired Qualities

  • Advanced knowledge of National & junior development pathway.
  • Advanced knowledge of college tennis recruiting rules and regulations.
  • Playing background, junior/collegiate tennis.
