Job Summary

Job Description

• Responsible for all aspects of instruction along with the development and management of a comprehensive sports program as a component of the college experience which enhances and supports the student's liberal arts education in support of the mission of the College.

Accountabilities

• Organizes, directs, and implements all phases of a highly competitive program including, practice sessions, recruitment, counseling, and physical, mental, and skill-based training and conditioning.
• Supervises assistant coach(s).
• Build a local and regional recruiting network.
• Monitors the academic performance of the student athletes in the program.
• Directs and coaches the team according to governing body and Assumption College standards, rules and regulations.
• Awareness, commitment and adherence to governing body & College rules.
• Shall maintain current certification in first aid, cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) and automatic external defibrillator (AED) use.
• Actively participates in department fund raising and public relations events.
• Represents the College in media interviews, speaking engagements, and community service projects.
• Regularly attends selective special College events.
• Develops alumni relations for the promotion of the program.
• Directs a summer camp if applicable.
• Performs other duties assigned by the Director of Athletics.
• Serves as a Campus Security Authority for Clery reporting purposes and a Responsible Employee for Title IX reporting purposes.

Requirements

1. Must be willing to contribute actively to the mission of the College as well as show respect for the Catholic and Assumptionist identity of the College.
2. Bachelor's Degree/Master's preferred.
3. College coaching experience preferred - at least 3 years of demonstrated coaching expertise.
4. Strong communication and public relations, management and leadership skills.
