Job Summary

Job Overview

• Position reports to the Office of the Registrar with direction by athletic compliance and academic services.
• The position coordinates and administers the evaluation and determination of freshman initial eligibility, transfer and international student-athlete eligibility, and continuing eligibility for all student-athletes.
• This position completes and submits annual NCAA reports (GSR, APR, etc.).

Responsibilities

• Must monitor, interpret, apply, and certify compliance with University, WAC, and NCAA rules and regulations for assigned sports.
• Must also maintain an effective and collaborative working relationship between Athletics and the Registrar’s Office.
• Knowledge of NCAA, WAC and University rules and regulations dealing with initial and continuing eligibility of student-athletes.
• Knowledge of computer applications (i.e. Office, Banner, CAi, etc..)
• Knowledge of University degree and certificate requirements.
• Knowledge of research and interview techniques.
• Knowledge of NCAA Bylaws (especially Bylaw 14).
• Organizational skills.
• Skill in verbal and written communication.
• Must be attentive to detail and extremely accurate.
• Skills in working with various constituencies in a professional manner.
• Ability to commit to NCAA, WAC, and University rules.
• Ability to apply Bylaw 14 in a systematic and logical approach to approximately 350 student-athletes.
• Ability to organize and track complex data including: Progress Towards Degree, GPAs, 6/18/24 rule, Transfer Credits and evaluations, etc..
• Ability to communicate complex ideas verbally and in writing with Athletics Department Compliance and Academic Staff, Coaches, Student-Athletes, Prospective Student-Athletes, and NCAA or Conference Staff in a proficient and professional manner.
• Ability to complete annual NCAA reports (GSR, APR, etc.).
