Job Summary
Responsibilities
- Part-time hourly Assistant Coach position to assist with all aspects of NCAA Division I Women's Rowing program, including compliance with NCAA and College rules and regulations, program administration, student recruitment, and coaching.
- Expected to teach the necessary skills from safety practices, the basic fundamentals, to on-water techniques and strategies and in planning and conducting daily practices and/or conditioning sessions; including various individual sessions of technique and fundamental work.
- Promote and foster a positive team environment, appropriate behavior, and sportsmanship by team members, including physical and mental well being of all program participants.
- Assist with supporting and monitoring the academic performance of team members, including graduation from the College.
- Support, monitor, and evaluate the academic performance of the student-athletes participating in their sport program.
- Responsible for the conduct of team members both on and off the water.
- Assist in organizing practices, including physical and technical training.
- Participate in activities that strengthen the relationship between the College and the community, including alumni events, fund raising, promotional events, and other college and community events; communicate with parents, alumni, and community in order to promote a stronger relationship with the program.
- Maintain collaborative working relationships with administrators and coaches in the department, other college offices, and appropriate relationships with members of the media, donors, and other individuals interested in the Women's tennis program.
- Know, recognize, and comply with the laws, policies, rules, and regulations governing the College and its employees, and the rules of the National Collegiate Athletic Association and of the Conference as now constituted or as may be amended in the future. Immediately advise the Director of Athletics and Recreational Sports if you have reasonable cause to believe violations, whether by employees or students, have occurred or will occur.
- Works in a highly collaborative and culturally diverse environment and develops effective collaborative working relationships with administrators and coaches in Athletics & Recreational Sports.
