Job Summary
Duties and Essential Job Functions:
- Attends all Cheerleading practices as assigned by Cheer Coordinator.
- Attends home football, volleyball, ad basketball games as assigned by Cheer Coordinator.
- Assists Cheer Coordinator in coaching/teaching the Cheerleaders at practices and home games.
- Attends game day operations meetings, staff meetings, and captain meetings as assigned.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
Position Requirements:
Required Education and Experience:
- Bachelor's Degree.
- 1 year collegiate cheerleading experience.
Preferred Education and Experience:
- Performance and teaching abilities in elite, collegiate level coed and all-girl stunts, pyramids, basket tosses, and tumbling.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
- Knowledge of basic advising and counseling techniques.
- Knowledge and understanding of college student development and learning.
- Knowledge of crowd involvement and safety measures.
- Skill in planning and organizing.
- Skill in communication, presentation and interpersonal techniques.
- Ability to adhere to and support university spirit squad priorities, philosophy and guidelines.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Word, PowerPoint and Excel.
- Ability to work nights, weekends and holidays.
Physical Requirements (With or Without Accommodations):
- Visual acuity to read information from computer screens, forms and other printed materials and information.
- Able to speak (enunciate) clearly in conversation and general communication.
- Hearing ability for verbal communication/conversation/responses via telephone, telephone systems, and face-to-face interactions.
- Manual dexterity for typing, writing, standing and reaching, flexibility, body movement for bending, crouching, walking, kneeling and prolonged sitting.
- Lifting and moving objects and equipment.
Work Environment:
- Work is indoors and outdoors and is subject to schedule changes and/or variable work hours.
- There are no harmful environmental conditions present for this job.
- The noise level in this work environment is usually moderate.
