Assistant Women's Track & Field Coach

Job Summary

Responsibilities:

• The Assistant Women's Track and Field Coach supports and assists the Head Coach with the organization and direction of all aspects of a highly competitive Track and Field program.
• The assistant coach will primarily instruct, train and coach student athletes for the jumps, sprints, hurdles and multi events and will instruct student athletes for purposes of academic, social development, compliance requirements, and safety and health considerations.
• Additionally, this coach is tasked with identification, recruitment and support of athletically and academically qualified student athletes, sports specific training and program development, and contest preparation.
• The Assistant Coach supports the Head Coach in administrative and leadership processes for team travel, program budgets, academic success, fund raising, public/alumni relations and promoting the philosophy and objectives of the Department of Athletics and the University.

Required qualifications: 

• Bachelor's degree.
• Intercollegiate competitive or coaching experience or equivalent in the sport of women's track and field.
• Demonstrated experience in the jumps, sprints, hurdles and multi events. Able to travel and work some evenings, weekends and holidays.
• Able to demonstrate a commitment to the highest ideals of sportsmanship and academic excellence.
• Able to demonstrate excellent written communication skills. 
• Valid driver's license, a low risk driving record and is insurable by the university.

Preferred qualifications: 

• Master's degree. 
• Experienced in pole vaulting. 
• Commitment to growing as a coach at an intercollegiate level. 
• Demonstrated mature verbal and interpersonal communication skills.
