Job Summary

The R&D Engineer, Golf Clubs will play an integral role in upping our game in the research, design, analysis & development of future golf club designs. Leaning on a demonstrated passion for the game of golf, this individual will help create products that other passionate golfers worldwide will love and help them play their best. Specific responsibilities include, but are not limited to: -Research and understand the golf marketplace landscape in terms of equipment offerings. -Research and understand the fundamentals for what makes a golf club perform and potential technologies that can be applied to deliver world class performance. -Understand and learn to modify mass properties and dimensions to deliver target specs and high COR product designs. -Research and understand the rules governing compliance for golf equipment as set forth by the USGA and R&D governing bodies. -Work with Advanced Innovation, CAD Engineering and Designers to generate/modify/iterate models in CAD from models/sketches or existing parts with the end goal of being used in Advanced Simulation, prototyping, or production. -Develop and execute DOE’s to explore designs and how they affect performance and consumer perception by hitting the design prototypes, running simulations, laboratory measurements as well as robot and player testing. -Facilitate communication and/or generate rapid prototypes using various makes/models of 3D printing technology both in-house and 3rd -Understand and communicate methods and work flow to both technical and business people in the pursuit of developing world class products What We're Looking For An individual who is curious and has a strong desire to understand the design & manufacturing of sports equipment; along with an eagerness to continuously learn and incorporate new software/applications into the work flow on demand. Other qualifications include: -BS in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering is strongly preferred, OR -2 to 5 years experience in an Engineering environment in a full time or internship capacity -Demonstrated love for the game of golf. A single digit handicap preferred and college playing experience a big plus. -Experience with CAD software packages and Matlab -Must be able to work in an experimental, fast paced environment while managing multiple projects and under minimal supervision -Ability to communicate complex methods, timelines and findings to a non-technical audience. -Strong eye for examining the nuisance of shape and contour of complicated surfaces.
