Job Summary
Reporting to the Executive Director, the Manager, Festival Operations is responsible for
overall Operations and Project Planning for the Festival Site and associated activities.
This position acts as a leadership generalist resource to the entire Festival Committee and
has responsibility for the Events taking place within the 108th Grey Cup Festival. The
position supports the execution of the Festival Events including, but not limited to,
Concerts in the Brandt Centre, Family Fest, Parade, and other activities as Festival
Committee initiatives. The position will support other areas on the Festival Committee
and Business Operations Committee as required.
Major Responsibilities:
• Support the ED with oversight and updating the overall Grey Cup Festival project
plan
• Monitor and support budget tracking for all Festival activities
• Support the ED in reviewing and approving all facility rental agreements ensuring
budget preparation and monitoring on behalf of the various committees
• Work closely with and support the Festival Committee assigned Volunteer Planning
Leads to ensure established timelines and work projects are met
• Working with the Executive Director and closely with the Partnership Committee to
ensure sponsor activation obligations are met as it relates to the Festival Events and
Venues
• Work closely with the Roughrider or Venue Box Offices to fulfill all ticketing
requirements for all Festival Events
• Lead and support all stakeholders in the development and execution of the Grey Cup
Parade and Fan March as required.
• Support organizational events and programs as needed
• Perform other duties as delegated or assigned
Knowledge/Skills/Attributes:
• Completion of an under graduate degree in Sport Management/Administration,
Business, Event Management OR equivalent learning obtained through 7-10 years
related experience
• 5-7 years related experience in Event/Project Management with a focus on event
planning, volunteers, operations and venue management.
• Strong project management skills with a demonstrated ability in facilitating a range of
diverse projects with contractors, volunteers and internal and external stakeholders.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with competing timelines and priorities.
• Demonstrated written and oral communications abilities including comfort in public
speaking and presentations to multi-sized groups
• Proven skills in managing multiple priorities, attention to details in a fast paced work
environment with shifting priorities
• Proficiency in the use of computer software including spreadsheets, databases,
internet-based systems, email, etc
• Demonstrated professionalism and maturity in responding to staff, partners and public
who raise issues, complaints and demonstrate assertive behavior
• Highly developed verbal and written communication skills, in interacting with staff,
co-workers, customers and suppliers
• Independent thinking style that demonstrates a willingness to raise issues with
supervisors to ensure appropriate resolution of customer concerns
• Team oriented style with a “can do” service focus to achieve organizational results
• Availability to work irregular hours and work schedules
